This instrumental work was derived from two ideas:
- it was written for a quartet where violins have been replaced with a flute and clarinet.
- this quartet was then doubled to create a stereophonic spacialisation.
These two prerequisites allowed the envisaging multiple combinations where the sonic treatment focuses on the duo, the quartet or the octet.
